Mark is a graduate of Miami University (BA) and Bethel Seminary, Minnesota (MDiv). He earned his PhD at the University of South Florida in the College of Education, Department of Leadership Development. His focus of study was organizational leadership, adult education, and research and measurement.
Jim started his collegiate career at the University of Michigan and graduated from Wheaton College with a BA. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and flew Navy attack jets for five years in the regular Navy and another seven years in the Naval Reserves.
Mark is a graduate of Miami University (BA) and Bethel Seminary, Minnesota (MDiv). He earned his PhD at the University of South Florida in the College of Education, Department of Leadership Development. His focus of study was organizational leadership, adult education, and research and measurement.
Mark returned to Bethel Seminary in 1998 to serve as dean of the Center for Transformational Leadership. He is presently lead faculty for the Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership and Professor of Ministry Leadership. Mark teaches in this program as well as the MBA program at Bethel. Mark has served on the boards of the Christian Legal Society and Christian Conciliation Service
of Minnesota, and the Governing Board and Board of Directors of the Urban Leadership Academy at the University of Minnesota. He currently serves as a national board member for Love INC.
He consults with businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations in the areas of leadership development, strategic planning, and team building.
Mark is married to Dawnelle, and they reside in Arden Hills, Minnesota. They have two grown children.

He earned an MBA from the University of Utah and began a sales and marketing career with Procter and Gamble, retiring in 2004 after twenty-eight years. In retirement, or refirement, as he prefers to call it, Jim started a leadership consulting company, JMark Partners LLC with Mark McCloskey. Jim also taught transformational leadership in the Bethel University MBA program for seven years. In addition, Jim is a co-founder and was board chairman of Africaworks, a non-profit organization in southern Africa that creates sustainable jobs for the economically disadvantaged.
Jim and Joanne have been married for forty-nine years and live in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. They have three grown children and six grandchildren. Besides family, Jim’s interests include racquetball, biking, hiking, backpacking, reading and mentoring his grandchildren.
